India Beaten By South Africa - Fast Bowlers Failed Except Shami

In the first ODI first, India has got beaten up by South Africa. Mahendra Singh Dhoni won the toss and decided to bowl first. Bowling first Indian bowlers Mohit Sharma and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar looked very unimpressive. Slow pace of Mohit Sharma and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar made batting very easy for the South Africans.

Even if Mohit Sharma and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar proved to be a failure on the South African track in the first ODI, Shami proved to be again a superb fast bowler. Shami is the only one who made African batsman worried and he also took wickets. One bowler cannot do everything on own and that's why South Africa kept playing well and scored over 350 runs.

De Kock really hit all the bowlers for 4s and sixes. De Kock scored his second century and proved that how good a batsman he is opening the batting for South Africa. De Villiers and Duminy played very fast and it is mainly because of them that South Africa scored over 350.

Dale Steyn - Superb Bowling in First ODI 2013 Against India

Indian Batsman had no solution to the speed and swing of Dale Steyn. Morne Morkel was also excellent and when he started bowling Indian bowlers couldn't handle his speed and bounce. It was really tough playing all the fast bowlers of South Africa which proved that lack of speed is the reason why Indian bowlers failed on the South African track. It was only Mahendra Singh Dhoni who played very well and scored 65 runs.

India lost the first ODI by 141 runs and it was totally a bad performance by India. We need Indian batsman to play carefully at the start and we need bowlers who can bowl at a good speed as playing medium fast bowlers seemed very easy for Africans.

India's defeat in the first ODI against South Africa has proven that there is no help for spinners and even fast bowlers like Mohit and Bhuvaneshwar who don't have enough pace failed. We need more speed and that's why playing Umesh Yadav and Ishant Sharma will be the right thing in the second and third ODIs.
